12.12.2023 ALDE-PACE joins the ALDE Party and Renew Group in the European Parliament in urging the European Council to continue providing substantial aid to Ukraine and to start EU accession talks this week.
“The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has consistently supported Ukraine, advocating for aid, justice and a European future for the country. In our recent Resolution 2516 (2023) on Ensuring a just peace in Ukraine and lasting security in Europe, we called on parliaments and governments of Council of Europe member States to ‘spare no efforts to support Ukraine in its path towards accession to the European Union as a fully-fledged member’.
Ukraine's heroic fight against the unjustified and unprovoked war of aggression staged by Russia has become a symbol of aspiration for democratic European values. The European Union must not disappoint the aspirations of the Ukrainian people. We call on all EU members to stand on the right side of history,” declared ALDE-PACE President Iulian Bulai.
