PACE Monitoring rapporteurs on Georgia, Claude Kern (ALDE, France) and Edite Estrela (SOC, Portugal), have expressed concerns over the arrests of Georgian opposition leaders and the police raids on their offices, citing questionable legal grounds and potential political abuse. The rapporteurs also denounced ongoing police brutality against peaceful protesters and journalists and condemned the prevailing impunity.
