Today ALDE group President Jacques Maire was appointed PACE rapporteur on the Poisoning of Alexei Navalny. This is the first report on the poisoning of Mr Navalny initiated in an international parliamentary organisation to which the Russian Federation is a member.
Jacques Maire underlined that Russia had the obligation to fully cooperate with the Council of Europe and its Parliamentary Assembly. “I call for broad cooperation from civil society, the media, whistle-blowers, Russian authorities, as well as our fellow Duma parliamentarians to help us in the search for truth”, declared Jacques Maire.
