Iulian Bulai chairs discussion at Democracy and Human Rights in Europe conference

On 5 May 2023, ALDE group leader Iulian Bulai attended the 2023 Democracy and Human Rights in Europe Conference in Kristiansand. Iulian Bulai delivered introductory remarks on the state and course ahead for European cooperation and moderated the discussion featuring:

-Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Olga Stefanishyna 
-Former President of Lithuania and EU Commissioner, Dalia Grybauskaite  
-Chairman of EDAM, Centre for Economics and Foreign Policy Studies, Istanbul, Ambassador (R) Tacan Ildem, fmr. Assistant Secretary General of NATO
-Head of Department of International Law, Faculty of Public Governance and International Studies, University of Public Service, Budapest, Dr. Norbert Tóth
-Former Prime Minister of Norway and Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Thorbjørn Jagland 
-President of the Council of European Municipalities and Regions, President of the Board of the Congerence, Gunn Marit Helgesen 
-Vice Chair of the Council of Europe Advisory Council of Youth, Alice Bergholtz

ALDE-PACE bureau member and PACE rapporteur on the Reykjavik Summit, Fiona O’Loughlin, also took part in the conference and discussed recommendations and proposals for the summit.
