En Marche joins ALDE-PACE

After an observation period of one year the French political movement “La République en Marche (LREM)” formally joins the ALDE group in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
ALDE group leader Rik Daems welcomed the arrival of LREM:
“Today a strong delegation of new French MPs joined our group to reinforce the voice of liberal, progressive and centrist parliamentarians in the Assembly. Together as the third largest group we will work to consolidate the vision of Europe as a fair, free and open society based on the values of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
Now more than ever do we need to defend the freedoms and liberty of all the citizens that live in the Council of Europe member states. Our core values are currently under pressure. It is important to join forces in order to further strengthen these values.”
