ALDE concerned about situation in Poland

ALDE group leader Jacques Maire published an open letter voicing the group’s concern over the decision to maintain the presidential election in Poland under lockdown and over two bills aiming to restrict rights for legal abortion and sexuality education currently examined by the Polish Sejm.

“We all understand that these difficult times require a lot of courage from political leaders. But the ALDE-PACE strongly believes that the most courageous course of action would be to strictly respect European standards for human rights, democracy, and the rule of law” said Jacques Maire.
