AI and Democracy

An important and exciting meeting is taking place on 18 and 19 November in Geneva. The PACE Sub-Committee on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, chaired by ALDE-PACE’s bureau member Damien Cottier, is discussing a series of fundamental issues related to the growing use and impact of artificial intelligence on our democracies.

In the programme:

  • The Council of Europe and AI: promoting the signature and ratification of the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law
  • The United Nations’ role in AI governance
  • AI, armed conflicts and security
  • AI and its impact on democratic processes
